Thank You, My Friend

“We’ll be friends forever, won’t we, Pooh?” asked Piglet.
“Even longer,” Pooh answered.

I find myself this week thinking of my friends. They say you know who your true friends are when tragedy strikes. They are the ones who are there for you, who love and support you in the good times, as well as the bad.

I am so blessed to have the most amazing friends. From holding my hand (and making me dinner) before and after Dave’s passing; through visits here and at the service; from cards, letters, emails, generous gifts and sentiments of love; through the days and months that have followed; to regular well wishes, Facebook posts and ‘check-ins’; to getting me out of the house and out of town; to continued support of this blog and my “newly widowed” endeavors – you all have been there for me.

If I listed names I would forget someone and would never be able to forgive myself. But you know who you are. And I want you to know how grateful I am to have you in my life. And how grateful I am that so many of you were a part of Dave’s life, as well. It means more to me than you’ll ever know. I can’t imagine what the past four months would have been like without you.

A simple thank you doesn’t seem adequate enough. Know that I truly cherish our friendship and if you ever need me, I’ll be there. Just call out my name.
