Frying Bacon Nekkid

No, not me. Not exactly. My husband. No, not like that. Wait a minute. Let’s start over.

Have you ever gotten a song in your head that you couldn’t shake? Have you ever gotten just one line of a song in your head that you couldn’t shake? What about one line of a stupid song in your head that you couldn’t shake? It’s like that.

“Lovin’ you is like fryin’ bacon nekkid.” That’s the line I can’t get out of my head. Can’t shake it. And now that I’ve typed it, I’m sure it will be even harder.

Fryin Bacon Nekkid is a song that caused child-like giggles from my husband every time he heard it. Or sang it. To me. As if.

Anyway, the other night I was frying bacon. Though fully clothed, that song popped into my head. Not the whole song. I really have no idea what the rest of the lyrics are. Just that one line. Over and over again. Then, the next evening I was frying bacon again (Yes, two recipes that called for bacon back-to-back – don’t judge), and there it was again. Really, still. Song. In. Head. I didn’t know whether to laugh or cry. I chose both.

Go ahead, search for it on YouTube. You know you want to.

The point to this madness is that funny (or stupid silly) fond memories are just that. They’re fond. I have no doubt that they are good for me to have. Just don’t make the same mistake I did and have a “fond” memory of something so ridiculous. Seriously, how could loving me ever be anything like frying bacon naked? Don’t answer that!

Oh come on Debbie, it would be too fun to answer that question,

Back in the day I remember that you and I didn’t always see eye to eye but there have been very few women that I have met, in the many years since, that I respect more than you. Even back in the day I admired your approach to life and you realationship with Dave.

    God Bless

For possibly the first time since I’ve known you, I believe you just rendered me speechless. 🙂 Thank you.

Can’t say that I had every heard of this song before, but after “you tubing” it made me laugh! Fond memories are what’s it about my friend. Wouldn’t recommend trying because hot grease and skin aren’t a good mix!

And can’t you see Dave falling in love with that song? Stupid song. 🙂
